Dominique Cunin, PhD
Valence’s Art and Design School in the Graphic Design department, France

Dominique Cunin, PhD in Aesthetics, Sciences, and Technologies of the Arts (Université Paris 8), is an artist and researcher at EnsadLab – Laboratoire de l’École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris (Reflective Interaction group). He is also a professor at Valence’s Art and Design School in the Graphic Design department, where he is deeply involved in research on art and design based on digital interactivity technologies. His PhD focused on Mobilizing, a programming language for mobile screens developed for use by artists and designers, of which he was a co-developer and the main contributor since 2008. This project evolved into Mobilizing.js in 2014, a software framework built on web technologies, which continues today in collaboration with IRCAM members and Montréal SAT. His art project themes explore the representation and understanding of space through digital image technologies. In 2023, he launched the EPE (Ecran-Papier-Editer) project on behalf of Esad•Valence, a European small-scale cooperation project about web-to-print technologies and their role in the redefinition of graphic design professions.
